The Role

Outlyer is looking for a creative, self-starting demand generation, marketing operations, and growth hacking expert. As the Head of Growth, you will report directly to the CEO and manage our current marketing team and external freelancers. 

Your success will be measured based on your ability to drive high-quality trial sign-ups that generate sales pipeline for a B2D product targeted at DevOps and Developers in SaaS/Online mid-large Enterprises. You will lead the design, creation and execution of campaigns that include webinars, content, events, emails, sponsorships, social media and nurturing. You will be able to quickly figure out what channels work for us and which ones don't, and what messaging converts users visiting our site into sign-ups. This position will be located in our San Francisco headquarters where the core go-to-market team and CEO are based.

About Outlyer

Outlyer was started in 2013 with the vision of building an Infrastructure Analytics Monitoring platform, that could be rolled out across a software organisation's development teams to enable everyone to get the visibility they need to deliver better software applications for their users online. With the rise of DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure and Microservices, monitoring tools have become even more critical, which is why the market has exploded in the last few years.

Along the way we acquired some amazing world-class customers such as Salesforce.com and the BBC, who have deployed us across 1,000's of servers, built a world class product, and also founded and run the world's largest DevOps meetup community DevOps Exchange, with over 5,600 members and still growing. 

We're in a hot market, that is currently worth $20b and expected to almost double in the next 6 years, which is why we are backed by leading VCs Battery Ventures and Open Ocean.

We are currently a team of 15, based between San Francisco and London, with go-to-market based in San Francisco and product development based in London, where we originally started. We work hard, and have built a culture of excellence and getting s**t done.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a demand generation strategy leveraging a portfolio of new and existing programs including SEM, email marketing, lead nurturing, webinars, events, and other paid programs. You will be responsible for signup and pipeline targets. Collaborate closely with Product and Sales to define new campaigns and manage the marketing calendar.
  • Develop creative marketing campaigns geared towards creating buzz about Outlyer.
  • Maintain and update Outlyer’s website copy (when necessary)
  • Leverage Hubspot and Salesforce to measure, track, and analyze marketing programs and performance.
  • Analyze campaigns and programs for effectiveness, conduct marketing programs reporting and analysis on a weekly basis.
  • Collaborate closely and facilitate communication between product, marketing and sales to achieve business goals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing demand generation for a B2B enterprise software company, including developing and managing campaigns from concept to ROI analysis. Candidate must possess the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in demand generation for B2B software companies with proven track record.
  • Understanding of and some experience within the Monitoring space.
  • Consistent track record for increasing signups and sales pipeline.
  • Strong accountability for generating pipeline and not just leads.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to write exciting and innovative copy.
  • Experience communicating strategies and results to sales and executive teams.
  • Experience with Hubspot, Intercom and Salesforce to generate, capture, nurture, track and report on leads, conversions, and ROI.
  • Experience in running a portfolio of quality lead generation programs.
  • Experience should include: email and database marketing, content marketing, sponsorships, PPC and events.
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent projects and consistently delivering on time. • Social media program and developer marketing experience a plus.
  • BA/BS required.
